INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS 2014 ABSTRACTS SUBMISSION

Participation to the conference will be permitted to studies containing original materials concerning the application of osteopathic treatment on clinical outcomes. The Scientific Advisory Board will be responsible of abstracts acceptance or rejection as well as type of presentation.

Abstract submission

Guidelines:

  • Abstracts may only be submitted in in a good English.
  • Please submit abstract according to the relevant indications
  • Maximum length of the text is 500 words excluding title, authors and affiliations.

Authors:

  • must ensure at least one registration and presentation of the research at the conference
  • must give their consent, as part of the process of submission, to publication of abstracts
  • are responsible for the unity and veracity of research and are responsible for any data posted
  • must also ensure that the research presented is in accord with ethical principles governing research on animals and humans, as well as (where applicable) the Declaration of Helsinki.

The Scientific Advisory Board reserves the right to contact the author or the institution for any clarification during the process of reviewing and before the final decision.

The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submission.

Randomized clinical trials should respect all guidelines requested from CONSORT checklist

Process of scientific review

The Scientific Advisory Board, is composed by researchers, clinical specialists and clinical osteopaths.

Abstracts will be reviewed by at least 3 members of the Scientific Board.

The selection will be based on several criteria: scientific relevance, evidence of results presented, pertinence of the hypothesis, consistency of methods applied and reliability to clinical aspect.

The Scientific Board will decide which abstracts will be presented during the conference.

All accepted abstracts will be published on the official website and on proceedings book of the conference.

Notification

Authors will be notified of acceptance in June 2014 by email.

ABSTRACT COMPETITION

During the conference, a student abstract competition will be organised. Students who intent to participate, have to select the appropriate choice during the submission process. Winners will be awarded with an oral presentation during the plenary sessions of the conference.

Students are considered all undergraduate authors who will submit an abstract. Students should be able to demonstrate their academic status upon-request.

Non-students are considered all researchers, clinicians, post-graduate fellows who will submit an abstract as author.

All authors who choose to participate to the competition, will be asked to submit an e-poster in advance (full details are stated below) for a second stage peer-review process.

The scientific committee will choose the best 3 abstracts to be presented as oral during the conference.
Abstracts not awarded will be presented as poster.

Selection process

All abstracts which will be selected to participate at the conference and authors who choose to participate to the competition, will enter the second stage peer-review based process. Authors will be asked to submit an e-poster in advance to the conference. Each e-poster will be randomly assigned to 3 members of scientific committee to be judged.

E-poster

'e-poster' stands for electronic poster. Authors who entered into the second stage competition process will be asked to submit an e-poster. The advantage of this system is that authors can show more information than on classic paper posters.
The maximum file size limit is 10Mb per PowerPoint file, videos are not allowed.
The maximum number of slides for the e-poster is 10. Do not animate the slides and do not layer images, graphics.
A dedicated submission link will be sent to authors.
The submission deadline for uploading e-poster will be available shortly.

Late submissions

E-posters not uploaded prior to the submission deadline can NOT be participated at the competition. Updated presentations can NOT be replaced during the congress.
